Liqson was approached by Kenow GmbH in Bremen, Germany, for a temporary storage of sulphuric acid 96-98%. Thanks to the immediate and professional approach of the Liqson employees, the customer was assisted quickly and we delivered a double-walled stainless steel storage tank at short notice.
Project size
A sewage sludge incineration plant has been built on the Bremen site in recent years. For the water treatment and flue gas cleaning at this plant, concentrated sulphuric acid, previously supplied via IBCs, is required.
Changing IBCs requires manual effort and can also lead to an interruption in the dosage of the acid. For these reasons, the client ordered a rental tank from Liqson in order to allow uninterrupted dosage with minimum manual effort.
Kenow GmbH & Co. KG
Kenow GmbH & Co. KG is a company which focuses on sewage sludge processing in northwest Germany. The company specialises in the thermal processing of sewage sludge, meaning that it burns the sludge to reduce its volume and recover energy. This process is environmentally friendly and helps recover valuable substances such as phosphorus.
Fully equipped rental tank
For the storage of sulphuric acid 96-98%, Liqson set up a double-walled stainless steel storage tank:
- Fully double-walled with digital leak detection
- Digital level measurement with display and 4-20mA output signal
- Overfill notification at 95% full with audiovisual signal
- Safe steps and walkways for accessing the tank
- Vlarem prototype approval
- Filling pipe and top discharge with couplings as required
Thanks to its extensive range of tanks and accessories, Liqson was able to supply the customer with the required equipment on time.
Our stainless steel tanks are perfectly suited to the storage of sulphuric acid with a concentration between 96% and 98%. However, stainless steel tanks are not suitable for long-term storage of sulphuric acid with a percentage below 96%. To ensure the concentration remained above 96%, the tank was dried internally for this specific project.
