Storage liquids for chemical cleaning
In 2019, Thyssenkrupp laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new polyol plant. The plant, located in Tiszaújváros, Hungary, is being built on behalf of MOL. It involves an investment of 1.2 billion euros and will produce around 200,000 tonnes of polyol a year. Liqson was brought in to provide additional storage capacity during the chemical cleaning of components at the new plant.

Polyol
Polyol is a highly sought-after basic raw material for the production of plastics. Polyol is used in numerous industries, from the automotive industry to construction to the textile industry. The new production uses the most efficient and environmentally friendly technologies developed by Thyssenkrupp and Evonik.
Project
This plant is a complex construction of tanks, reactors, pipes, filters, mixers and other components. After construction, these components and machines must be thoroughly treated. The treatment consists of chemical cleaning by flushing specific chemicals.

Storage tanks
For this work, Thyssenkrupp sought reliable storage tanks that are resistant to the aforementioned chemicals but can also be used immediately. Liqson has a supply of double-walled storage tanks that are excellent for such jobs.
The tanks are equipped with a number of features that ensure that operators and technicians can carry out their work safely and efficiently:
- Digital level measurement at the operator’s eye level
- Safe steps and walkways to enter the top of the tanks
- Round tanks for easy pumping and quick cleaning
- Customised quick couplings for immediate commissioning.
At the customer’s request, the tanks were delivered in Tiszaújváros, Hungary, at very short notice. Because the tanks are fully equipped, they can be put into service immediately.
