Storage of barium chloride

Storage of barium chloride

Stricter discharge standards require companies to continually reinvent themselves in the area of water treatment and water reuse.

This customer, who specialises in waste processing, wanted to carry out a test with Barium chloride (27%).

Barium chloride (BaCl2) is the barium salt of hydrogen chloride. This salt is highly soluble in water.

The aim is to (chemically) precipitate dissolved substances in waste water by adding a chemical. In this case specifically negative ions such as phosphates and sulphates.

After positive lab tests, it was decided to test this set-up on a larger scale. At temperatures below 20°C, this company noticed that barium chloride (BACl2) was settling.

Double-walled stainless steel storage tank with agitators

As barium chloride is a hazardous liquid, the product must still be stored with due attention and safety instructions. This customer attaches great importance to safety and the environment. A double-walled stainless steel tank with agitators was therefore chosen.

The tank is fully equipped

  • Full double-walled structure with digital leak detection
  • Digital level measurement with display and 4-20mA output signal
  • Overfill notification at 95% vol with audiovisual signal
  • Safe steps and walkways for entering the tank
  • Vlarem prototype approval
  • 2x agitators of ⌀900mm
  • Filling pipe and top discharge with coupling as required

The customer’s strict safety requirements match Liqson’s selection. Thanks to the large stock of rental tanks and flexible service, it is possible to respond quickly to projects with a short start-up time.

The rental formula ensures that the customer can start up quickly and affordably while not having to compromise on safety, reliability and quality.
