Safe storage of hazardous chemicals needn’t be complex
Many companies often require extra short-term storage capacity for chemicals. This company, too, was looking for a tank to hold a mixture of sodium hypochlorite and potassium thiosulfate.
SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE
Sodium hypochlorite is the sodium salt of hydrogen hypochlorite. Its chemical formula is NaClO. The pure substance is a yellow-green solid with a penetrating odour, although it is usually used as an aqueous solution (chlorine bleach). This alkaline solution is used in industry for water treatment and in swimming pools, for example to chlorinate the water.
POTASSIUM THIOSULFATE
Potassium thiosulfate is an inorganic salt compound and is used, among other things, as a liquid fertilizer.
SAFE STORAGE IN A TEMPORARY, DOUBLE-WALLED RENTAL TANK
If you need a storage tank immediately, you can always call on Liqson. A double-walled polyester tank was chosen for this solution. Liqson’s large inventory of tanks meant that this industrial customer could rely on a very short delivery time. The tank was operational within a few days. This storage tank has Vlarem prototype approval.
Because the tank is fully equipped, the customer does not have to make any extensive adaptations. These double-walled rental tanks are delivered with a digital level measurement, leak detection and overfill protection as standard.
ACCESSORIES
Liqson also has a wide range of accessories. For this project, for example, a compressed air-operated HDPE membrane pump was also utilised. In order to make the necessary connections, DN50 UPE (chemical) hoses with PTFE (Teflon) seals were provided. These flexible piping systems with DIN flanges are easy to connect to one another and to other accessories.
